Considering trade school instead of a four-year degree? You don’t have to go very far to find high-quality, high-impact training.

Vance-Granville Community College has earned a spot on USA TODAY’s second annual list of America’s Top Vocational Schools, which names the top 250 schools in the nation that offer vocational training through undergraduate certificates or diplomas.

USA TODAY collaborated with market research firm Statista to develop rankings to help students navigate the trade school market. The rankings were judged on five primary criteria: graduation rate, graduates’ salary, years required to pay off net cost, social mobility, and diversity.

VGCC was one of 17 institutions in North Carolina to make USA TODAY’s list, 13 of which belong to the NC Community College System. Vance-Granville received the highest possible ranking of five stars, placing it in the top 10% of all schools evaluated.
