The Triangle North Healthcare Foundation recently continued its partnership with Vance-Granville Community College by presenting a $25,000 donation to create a “Presidential Scholar Award”-level scholarship for VGCC students.
As a result of this donation to The Vance-Granville Community College Foundation, a $1,250 scholarship will be awarded to a student each year. This is the sixth scholarship that the Triangle North Healthcare Foundation has established at VGCC to support a well-educated healthcare workforce.
Terri Hedrick, Board Chair of Triangle North Healthcare Foundation, stated: “Supporting students in the healthcare field is an investment in the future. Through this scholarship, we are proud to partner with The VGCC Foundation and help students pursue their goals while strengthening the healthcare workforce in our community.”
The Triangle North Healthcare Foundation is a non-profit regional grant-making organization that supports and invests in health and wellness initiatives in Vance, Warren, Franklin, and Granville counties, which will result in immediate and long-term improvement in the health status of the region. The organization was established in 2011 as the successor to the Maria Parham Healthcare Foundation.
“We are incredibly grateful for partners who recognize the importance of investing in our students and the future of healthcare,” said Tanya Weary, Executive Director of The VGCC Foundation. “Scholarships provide more than financial assistance; they open doors, remove barriers, and give students the opportunity to pursue their dreams and build careers that will strengthen our communities. We are proud to partner with Triangle North Healthcare Foundation, who believes in the potential of our students and are committed to helping them succeed.”
About The VGCC Foundation

Scholarships have been endowed by numerous individuals, industries, businesses, civic groups, churches, and the College’s faculty and staff. Tax-deductible donations to the VGCC Foundation have often been used to honor or remember a person, group, business, or industry with a lasting gift to education.
