Please join us in congratulating VGCC’s own Tia Evans, who was just named among the 2024 North Carolina Community College System Academic Excellence Award winners! Tia will graduate this spring from Vance-Granville’s Associate Degree Nursing program. In addition to her academic success, she has served as a peer tutor for the nursing program, a student ambassador, a Student Government Association senator, and a member of the Student Nurse Association.

In recognition of this award, Tia will be presented with a plaque and medallion at the College’s 2024 commencement, scheduled for Friday, May 10.

Each of the 58 North Carolina community colleges selects one student per year to receive the Academic Excellence Award. To be eligible, students must be currently enrolled, have completed at least 12 semester hours in a curriculum degree program, and have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.25.
