HR Specialist Certificate Program at VGCC South Campus

Do you supervise or manage employees? Do you currently work in an HR role for your organization? Do you have a dream of becoming an HR specialist? The HR Specialist Certificate Course offered through VGCC’s Continuing Education Department is here to help!

Our South Campus in Creedmoor, N.C. will host the new HR Specialist Certificate Course this spring, March 3 – May 24, 2020. This certificate course will focus on HR practices and review several aspects of employment law. Participants will also explore the role of HR within an organization, focus on SMART hiring and applicant screening; learn how to analyze jobs and prepare a job description. We will wrap up our session with a look at new employee orientation, benefits & compensation, and the process of evaluating employees.

The HR Specialist Certificate Course will meet Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and requires 2.5 hours of online instruction each week. Participants earn 5.0 CEUs and a certificate from VGCC’s CE Department for successfully completing 50 contact hours.
