June 30, 2022

1:39 pm – Vance County 911 Center received a call reporting that someone found a bomb with an hour timer in the Art Design Classroom #10. Vance County Sheriff’s department, Watkins Fire Department, Campus Police, and Highway Patrol were alerted and began response

1:47 pm – First deputy arrived on campus

1:54 pm – College president called evacuation for all Main Campus Buildings

1:55 pm Chief of Campus Police pulled fire alarm for Building 5 (location of art classrooms).
Sheriff’s department conducted a thorough search of art-related rooms in Building 5 and no evidence of any type of incendiary device was found

2:10 pm – Sheriff’s department informed that a similar call had been made to three other North Carolina Community Colleges within the past two hours. They communicated preliminary information indicating the call was not local and may have come from overseas

2:15 pm – College president made the “all-clear” announcement and employees/students were allowed to return to their buildings to work/study or leave campus
