Congrats to Chef Kyle Wilkerson, VGCC Culinary Arts program head—this past weekend, he was one of just 40 people selected to participate in the 2025 NC State University BBQ Camp! Now a certified pitmaster, he's got even more tips and tricks to teach the students that enter his kitchen. 👨🍳🍖🔥One of the beautiful things that pushes many chefs is the quest to get better every day—better knife skills, butchery skills, cooking, leading, teaching—you name it! This weekend our program head Chef Kyle Wilkerson had the opportunity to go to NC State University's annual BBQ Camp. Talk about a dream come true! Forty individuals are handpicked from a wait list and given the chance to spend two days learning and honing our skills around the BBQ table—can you say BBQ boot camp?
Even as instructors/program heads we never stop learning—I mean, who doesn't love a good BBQ? Chef Kyle can’t wait to turn around and teach our students some pointers —after all, sharing is caring!
