THIRD SCHOLARSHIP

Leon Turner, left, Granville County Economic Development executive director, presents a $3,000 check to Robert A. Miller, president of Vance-Granville Community College, Nov. 10 at Thorndale Country Club during a meeting of the Granville Industrial Club. The money to the college’s Endowment Fund and Scholarship Program was the first installment on a third $5,000 Academic Achievement Scholarship the club has endowed at VGCC. Turner told Miller that the club had received a letter from from a recent scholarship recipient, saying the grant enabled the student to continue her studies at VGCC. Miller thanked the club for the scholarship gifts and for its members’ continuing support of the college and its students.
