Scholarship Opportunities
Datatel Scholars Foundation scholarships are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students currently attending eligible Datatel client institutions*. The scholarship awards range in value from $1,000 —$2,500, depending on the tuition of the institutions at which the recipients are enrolled.
The Datatel Scholars Foundation offers four unique scholarships
• Datatel Scholars Foundation Scholarship — for outstanding students currently attending eligible Datatel client institutions.
• Angelfire Scholarship — honors soldiers who have served in the United States military during periods of combat. The Angelfire scholarship is presented to outstanding students currently attending eligible Datatel client institutions, who also served in the Asian theater (Vietnam, Laos, or Cambodia) between 1964 and 1975. Spouses and children of Vietnam veterans and refugees of Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam are also eligible. In addition, scholarships are given to soldiers who have served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and/or Operation Iraqi Freedom.
• Returning Student Scholarship — for outstanding students currently attending eligible Datatel client institutions, who have returned to higher education after an absence of five years or more.
• Nancy Goodhue Lynch Scholarship — for outstanding undergraduate students majoring in Information Technology-related curriculum programs at eligible Datatel client institutions.
Rewarding Well Rounded Students
Today, students study a variety of topics and reflect the diverse make-up and interests of our society. Because students often pursue nontraditional studies, any individual currently enrolled at an eligible Datatel client institution, for at least six credit hours, can apply for at least one of the scholarships.
While a solid academic record is important, all Datatel Scholars Foundation applicants are also evaluated on their demonstrated commitment to excellence in their studies, as well as their personal endeavors. Applications are completed online, and each applicant receives an assessment based on a combination of factors, including the quality of his/her personal essay, academic merit, community involvement, and letters of recommendation.
Partnerships that Make a Difference
The Datatel Scholars Foundation administers the scholarship program in partnership with Datatel client institutions. All eligible Datatel client institutions are encouraged to participate in the program by nominating outstanding students and reviewing applications. Together, this partnership goes a long way in helping students pursuing academic and personal excellence.

Making a Difference in Higher Education
Since 1990, the Datatel Scholars Foundation has been the cornerstone of Datatel’s philanthropic efforts, and confirmation of the company’s long standing commitment to higher education and its clients. Datatel assumes all administrative costs of the program. The Foundation is Funded through contributions from Datatel, donations From Datatel employees, and gifts from business friends and partners. Every dollar contributed to the Datatel Scholars Foundation goes directly toward student scholarships.
