Open House offers insights into VGCC Franklin Campus

Vance-Granville Community College’s Franklin County Campus held an open house July 28 to help area residents learn more about educational opportunities available at the facility, located on N.C. 56 just outside Louisburg. The informal event took place during the period of registration for the upcoming fall semester , which starts Aug. 16. Registration for fall classes continues through Aug. 11.

 

Visitors to the open house talked with Franklin Campus students, faculty and staff members about the various programs and courses offered there. Bobbie Jo May, dean of the campus, announced that courses from the Global Logistics Technology program are being added to her campus for the first time this fall. Other offerings include two biotechnology programs, the one-semester BioWork training course and two-year Bioprocess Technology degree; the Medical Assisting curriculum program; College Transfer , which offers the first two years of a four-year degree; Cosmetology and Early Childhood Education . Information was also provided on the Child Care Center at the campus and on Franklin County Early College High School , which VGCC operates in partnership with the Franklin County Schools.
