VGCC’s McCall retires after almost 30 years

Shelia H. McCall of Henderson recently retired as Lead Accounting Technician for Vance-Granville Community College. Members of McCall’s family joined her at a retirement celebration organized by her colleagues on Sept. 29 at the college’s main campus.

“We want to thank Shelia for all of her hard work, her terrific attitude and her friendship,” said VGCC controller Kathy Brafford. “Working in several different positions over the years, she has been an invaluable member of the VGCC Business Office team.”

McCall graduated from VGCC with an Accounting degree in 1981 and within days of her graduation began working part-time for the college as an Accounting Clerk. She became a full-time Accounting Clerk on Dec. 15, 1981. She has been Lead Accounting Technician since 1998.
