VGCC’s Dean’s List: Summer 1998
Vance-Granville Community College has announced that 75 students earned Dean’s List honors for the Summer Semester, which ended Aug. 6.
To qualify for summer Dean’s List, a student had to maintain a 3.25 grade-point average and get no grade lower than “B” while carrying at least nine semester hours, said Fred H. Wilson Jr., dean of instruction.
Summer Dean’s List honorees, listed by program areas, are:
Accounting – Leanne Elizabeth Drake of Henderson, Sandra Irene Branch of Louisburg, and Misty Mathis Shaw and Gayle Harmon Szabo, both of Oxford.
Associate Degree Nursing – Jana Leigh Grissom of Henderson, Laketra Shanon Stubbs of Kittrell, Pamela Michelle Capps of Norlina, and Tammy Morton Brown, Suzanne McGuinness Dunham and Elvin Curtis Hargrove, all of Oxford.
Associate in Arts – Susan Winstead Clayton and Cara Marie Robertson, both of Henderson, Karen Manning Hargrove of Middleburg, and Tina Overstreet St. Sing of Warrenton.

Others – Jennifer Leigh Morgan of Oxford earned Dean’s List honors in technical special studies, which means she is enrolled in curriculum classes but is not seeking a degree or diploma. Also, Jennifer Elaine Dalman of Creedmoor, a high school student who took nine curriculum hours at VGCC during the Summer Semester, made the list.
