VGCC Warren Campus offers OpenOffice Software Training

Vance-Granville Community College’s Warren County Campus will offer an OpenOffice Software Applications course starting Monday, Oct. 18. The course will be held Monday and Tuesday evenings from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m., continuing until Tuesday, Nov. 9. The Warren Campus is located at 210 West Ridgeway Street in Warrenton.

Through this 24-hour course, students will learn various tips, tricks and tools that allow them to increase their proficiency in OpenOffice programs. OpenOffice ( OpenOffice.org ) is an open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. The software works on all common computers, stores data in an international open standard format and can also read and write files from other common office software packages. Computer users all over the world can download OpenOffice, completely free of charge.

The cost of the course is $65, plus $6 in campus access and technology fees. Seating is limited, so students are encouraged to pre-register immediately.
