VGCC Warren Campus Holds Open House

The Warren County campus of Vance-Granville Community College is inviting the community to an Open House on Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, starting at 5:30 p.m. The program, which will be held in Building 4 at the Warrenton campus, will highlight American Indian Heritage Month and showcase entertainment that is representative of the local Native American culture. “We invite everyone to visit our open house, learn about the process of registering for classes, and find out what Warren County Campus is all about,” said Shelly Taylor, assistant director of the campus. The entertainment program will include a performance by dancers and drummers from the Warren County Indian Education Program. Christopher Richardson and Ryan Richardson, who are currently VGCC dual enrollment students from the Haliwa-Saponi Tribal School, will also perform. Currently, all the members of the junior class at the Tribal School are dual enrollment students at the Warren County Campus. Dual enrollment, also called “A Step Ahead,” allows high school students to take college-level courses at community colleges and earn both high school and college credits. The community college waives the tuition charges for high school students taking dual enrollment courses. For more information, call the Warren County campus at (252) 257-1900.
