VGCC Volleyball Players recognized for honors

Two Vance-Granville Community College women’s volleyball players were formally presented with their regional honors during halftime of a VGCC men’s basketball game on Dec. 2 at Aycock Recreation Center in Henderson.

Kara Reese of Henderson was named to the All-Region Second Team by coaches in National Junior College Athletic Association Region X. Jesse Edwards of Henderson received an Honorable Mention for the All-Region team. Reese is a student in the VGCC Radiography program . Edwards is a College Transfer student with plans to apply to the Associate Degree Nursing program, and is also a Nurse Aide I student.

Reese, who was also selected to the All-Region First Team as a freshman, has completed her VGCC playing career, with two years under her belt. Edwards was a freshman this year and plans to continue playing in 2016.
