VGCC Vice President Retires

Gary W. Morgan of Warren County recently announced his retirement as Vice President of Finance and Operations at Vance-Granville Community College. Morgan had worked for the college since January 1, 1996, when he became its Business Manager. He is a certified public accountant and earned a B.S.B.A. in Finance at East Carolina University.At a celebration on June 26 at the college’s main campus, VGCC President Randy Parker thanked Morgan for his leadership and noted that the college received “stellar” audits under Morgan’s 11-plus years of supervision. Morgan also oversaw construction and renovation of numerous buildings on all four of the college’s campuses.Morgan said that he thought of retirement as the beginning of a new career, rather than an ending. He expressed thanks to God for his family and for his fellow employees.Morgan’s successor as Vice President of Finance and Operations is Matthew Williams.
