VGCC Upgrades Computer Center At Main Campus In Vance County

Vance-Granville Community College has upgraded its Microsoft Office programs to the 2000 version in the Computer Center at its main campus in Vance County.

Fall classes in Word, Excel, Access and Power Point, which begin after Labor Day, will teach the upgraded programs.

In addition, upgraded Autocad 2000 and Quicken 2000 will be taught at the main campus Computer Center during the fall. A special nine-hour course will also be offered for persons currently using Autocad, to familiarize them with the features in the 2000 version.

VGCC offers dozens of computer extension classes at the main campus, plus 84 classes that can be taken online from the student’s home or office.

All the VGCC computer classes qualify the participant for continuing education units in technology, something that teachers in particular need, Behar said.

Interested persons may pick up a copy of the Computer Center Fall 2000 schedule from the main campus on Poplar Creek Road or call (252) 492-2061, ext. 3437, to have one mailed to them. The schedule is also posted on the VGCC web site at www.vgcc.edu.
