VGCC to host Cultural Program for Hispanic Population

An upcoming event at Vance-Granville Community College aims to showcase local talent while encouraging higher education and cultural diversity. The event, called “Colors,” will be held in the Civic Center on VGCC’s main campus in Vance County on Saturday, Jan. 24, from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. The focus of the event is promoting greater awareness of the opportunities available at the college to the local Hispanic population. The event is free and open to the public.

Youth and adults are invited to audition for the talent portion of the cultural event on Tuesday, Jan. 13 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., in the small auditorium in Building 2 on Main Campus. All acts, which may be either individuals or groups, are encouraged to be creative while preparing inspirational, uplifting material. Groups or individuals performing music, dance, drama or other artistic forms are welcome to audition.
