VGCC students help needy families at the holidays

Students in the Christian’s Fellowship Organization at Vance-Granville Community College recently completed a service project to benefit local families in need during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. The club “adopted” two families in Vance County by providing them each with Thanksgiving dinner and children’s toys for Christmas presents.

Pictured above, from left, Christian’s Fellowship Organization advisor and VGCC instructor Angela King-Blow and some of the students involved in the project — club treasurer America Marrow of Henderson, Jonathan Yates of Henderson, Sarah Robinson of Henderson, president Jonathan Marrow of Henderson, secretary Jennie Robinson of Henderson and Rachel Williams of Oxford — pose with the food and toys collected during their drive.

The purpose of the Christian’s Fellowship Organization is to enable Christian unity, Christian ethics, and Christian practices among VGCC students. Membership is open to VGCC students who have an interest in the organization and have at least a 2.0 grade point average.
