VGCC starts Spring Semester Registration online and on-campus Monday, Nov. 14

The Spring 2012 semester at Vance-Granville Community College begins Thursday, Jan. 5, but college officials advise students to apply and register for classes as early as possible. New students may apply for admission at any time prior to the beginning of the term. The upcoming semester’s course schedule is now available on VGCC’s web site by clicking on “ Schedules ” and then “Spring 2012 Course Schedule.” Printed schedules will be mailed to four-county area residents and will be available at all VGCC campuses and in boxes at various community locations.

Orientation sessions for new students in curriculum programs will be held in the Civic Center on VGCC’s main campus in Vance County on Nov. 10 at 5 p.m., Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. and Dec. 8 at 5 p.m. Orientation sessions will also be offered at the Franklin County Campus on Nov. 8 at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., at South Campus (between Creedmoor and Butner) on Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. and Dec. 7 at 5:30 p.m., and at Warren County Campus on Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m.

Only those students who are closer to graduating (having earned 30 or more total credit hours) will be able to register on the first day, Nov. 14. Registration will be open to all new and continuing students on Wednesday-Thursday, Nov. 16-Nov. 17, Monday-Thursday, Nov. 28-Dec. 1, and finally on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Hours for in-person registration are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Students also have the option of registering for classes online through the WebAdvisor system, from Nov. 14 through Dec. 30.

High school students interested in taking VGCC courses are advised that effective January 1, 2012, North Carolina will implement the new Career and College Promise program. The State Board of Education and the N.C. Community College System are in the process of preparing operating procedures and guidelines for program implementation. Please check http://www.vgcc.edu/HighSchoolStudents/index.cfm   for updates.

Students may pay, verify payment or charge tuition and fees online through WebAdvisor (by Visa or MasterCard) or in person at the VGCC Business Office on Main Campus (or at the campus where they are enrolled) on the same days as registration. The Main Campus Business Office hours of operation during registration are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, and 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Fridays. The payment deadline for registration is Thursday, Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. in person, or Friday, Dec. 30 if paying online or by mail.
