VGCC starts Spring Semester Registration online and on-campus in November

The Spring 2013 semester at Vance-Granville Community College begins Tuesday, Jan. 8, but college officials advise students to apply and register for classes as early as possible. New students may apply for admission at any time prior to the beginning of the term. The upcoming semester’s course schedule is now available on VGCC’s web site ( www.vgcc.edu ) by clicking on “ WebAdvisor .” Printed schedules will also be available at all VGCC campuses and in boxes at various community locations.

Orientation sessions for new students in curriculum programs will be held in the Civic Center on VGCC’s Main Campus in Vance County on Nov. 8 at 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and on Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. Orientation sessions will also be offered at South Campus (between Creedmoor and Butner) on Oct. 31 at 10 a.m. and on Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m.; at the Franklin County Campus on Nov. 6 at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.; and at the Warren County Campus on Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m.

Currently enrolled students who are continuing for another semester can register online or at VGCC’s four campuses, starting on Monday, Nov. 12. However, only those students who are closer to graduating (having earned 30 or more total credit hours) will be able to register on Nov. 12. On Tuesday, Nov. 13, students who have earned 12 or more total credit hours may register. Registration will be open to all new and returning students on Wednesday-Thursday, Nov. 14-15, Monday-Thursday, Nov. 26-29, and finally on Thursday, Jan. 3. Hours for in-person registration are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Students also have the option of registering for classes online through the WebAdvisor system, from Nov. 12 through Dec. 28.

High school students interested in taking VGCC courses through the Career and College Promise program should consult their school guidance counselors or a VGCC counselor. These students must register in person. For more information, go to www.vgcc.edu/HighSchoolStudents .

Students may pay, verify payment or charge tuition and fees online through WebAdvisor (by Visa or MasterCard) or in person at the VGCC Business Office on Main Campus (or at the campus where they are enrolled) on the same days as registration. The Main Campus Business Office hours of operation during registration are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Monday-Thursday, and 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Fridays. The payment deadline for registration is Monday, Dec. 17 at 5 p.m. if paying in person, or Friday, Dec. 28 if paying online or by mail. Students will not be mailed an invoice or schedule of classes, but may view and print their charges and class schedule through their WebAdvisor account.
