VGCC Schedules Computer Class for Spanish Speakers

Vance-Granville Community College will offer a basic computer class for Spanish speakers who may have limited English proficiency, on its Franklin County Campus, located on N.C. 56 about one mile west of Louisburg. Classes will be held on Tuesday evenings, Sept. 11 through Nov. 13, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.Marianna Guerra will be the instructor for the course, which is based on the popular “Beginner’s Guide to Computers & Internet” class. Students will be introduced to the common components and many uses of personal computers through the Windows environment. Students will create, edit and save simple documents and learn the process of sharing data (cutting and pasting). In addition, students will explore web sites by using a browser, learn how to access information on the Internet by using search engines, and send and receive e-mail messages.The cost of the class is $60, plus the cost of a textbook.For more information and to register, call the Franklin County Campus at (919) 496-1567.
