VGCC Offers Seminar on Women Working with Women

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will present a free seminar on Tuesday, Oct. 3, entitled “The Challenges of Women Working with Women.”  The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 7107 of Building 7 on the college’s Main Campus in Vance County.

“Many of you have had to endure gossip, cat fights, sabotage and all sorts of frustrating problems,” said the course’s instructor, Denise Ryan, who holds an M.B.A. and is the founder of Raleigh-based FireStar.  “This seminar is designed to help you understand the differences between men and women in the workplace and teach you to work more effectively with your female co-workers and subordinates.”  Participants will learn how to solve problems that arise when women work together, including communicating differently, dealing with conflict and balancing power.

VGCC Small Business Center Director Diane Finch advised that space is limited for this free seminar.  To reserve a seat, pre-register by calling the Small Business Center at (252) 492-2061, ext. 3239 or 3240.
