VGCC offers seminar on SBA Loan Program

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will present a free seminar on the federal Small Business Administration’s Community Express Loan program, on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011. The seminar will be held from 10 a.m. until Noon on the college’s main campus in Vance County.

“If you need money to start a business or to expand your existing business, this seminar may be your answer,” VGCC Small Business Center Director Diane Finch said. Community Express loans can be used for purchasing equipment, working capital, expansion, purchasing inventory or hiring personnel. The loan application is simple, and does not require collateral, a tax return or personal/business financials.

Seminar participants can apply for a loan, ranging from $5,000 to $25,000, immediately following the seminar. In order to do so, participants should bring a copy of the front and back of their driver’s licenses or other forms of state identification, and a check from their business checking account.

Finch advised that space is limited for this free seminar. To reserve a seat, pre-register by calling the Small Business Center at (252) 738-3240.
