VGCC Offers Seminar on Retirement Plans

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will offer a free seminar on selecting retirement plans in September at the college’s main campus in Vance County. The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Sept. 25 in room 7107 of Building 7.In this seminar, Virginia Clay, a financial advisor and financial planning associate at Smith Barney in Raleigh, will present facts that will help area residents choose a qualified retirement plan that best serves business owners and/or employees. Examples of plans include SEP, SIMPLE, 401(k), Safe Harbor 401(k), Profit Sharing, Money Purchase or Defined Benefit. This seminar will provide information for business owners, independent contractors, human resource professionals and others to help them begin evaluating the suitability of their current plans.VGCC Small Business Center Director Diane Finch advised that space is limited for this free seminar.
