VGCC Offers Seminar on Dealing with Difficult People

Vance-Granville Community College’s Small Business Center will present a free seminar, entitled “Surviving and Thriving around People who Drive You Crazy,” on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The seminar will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in room 7107 of Building 7 on the college’s main campus in Vance County. Jess McLamb of Raleigh, president of the Roper Group, will lead this workshop, which will help participants understand what motivates people and what causes them to be stressed. This understanding is the key to dealing with difficult people, according to McLamb, who will also discuss how one’s own thoughts and feelings affect the behavior of those around them.McLamb began her consulting and training business over a decade ago. Since that time, she has helped hundreds of people better utilize their communication and business skills.VGCC Small Business Center Director Diane Finch advised that space is limited for this free seminar.
