VGCC Offers New Computer Class

The Computer Center at Vance-Granville Community College has added a new course to its offerings – Beginner’s Class for Computer and Internet Skills.

Student demand for a class to learn about computers with a special interest on Internet skills led to development of this class. The 24 hours of instruction teaches beginning students information they need to get up and running on a computer, including basic Windows commands. Students will also learn about the Internet, including surfing the net, conducting searches and how to use e-mail.

The class will be offered in both daytime and evening sessions at VGCC’s main campus in Vance County. Daytime classes will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays, Jan. 4-Feb. 8. Evening classes will be offered from 6 to 10 p.m. on Tuesdays, April 2-May 7. Laura Peace will instruct both classes.

This beginner’s class in computers will also be offered at the South, Franklin County and Warren County campuses of Vance-Granville Community College. Call Ann Behar or Jennifer Allen at (252) 492-2061, ext. 3417 or 437 for more information or to register.
