VGCC Offers National Electrical Code Class

Vance-Granville Community College will conduct a class on the National Electrical Code at the main campus in Vance County in September.

The class will include 24 hours of instruction. Classes will be held from 6 to 10 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6, and concluding Tuesday, Sept. 27, in Room 7107 of Building 7.

Daniel J. Thomas Jr. will instruct the course, which will cover general code rules, dwelling calculations, grounding and bonding, service ampacity, concurrent protection, conductor selection, motor calculations, appliances, heating equipment, and conduit fill.

Students should bring the National Electrical 2005 Code book, a calculator and a note pad to the classes.
