VGCC Offers Free Seminar On Business Loan Program

Persons who need money to start a business or operating funds for an existing business can learn how to get financing at a free seminar at Vance-Granville Community College on Friday, Sept. 16.

The college’s Small Business Center will conduct a seminar on the SBA Community Express Loan Program from 9 to 11 a.m. in Room 7107 of the VGCC main campus in Vance County.

Attendees can learn how to get loans of $5,000, $10,000 or $15,000 through the program. The money can be used to purchase equipment or machinery, to use for working capital, expansions, purchase of inventory or hiring or personnel.

Immediately after the seminar, applications for a loan can be filed. There is a one-page application that requires no collateral, no tax return and no business or personal financials. In order to apply for a loan at the seminar, applicants must bring a copy of the front and back of their driver’s license and a check from their business checking account. Applicants must have their federal tax ID number if their business is a corporation, Limited Liability Corporation or partnership, or their Social Security number if they are self-employed.

For more information and to pre-register for the seminar, call the VGCC Small Business Center at (252) 492-2061, ext. 3239 or 3240.
