VGCC Offers Flight Ground School at Franklin Airport

Franklin County Airport Manager Leigh Osborn will serve as the instructor for the upcoming Private Pilot Flight Ground School, offered by Vance-Granville Community College.  Classes will be held at Franklin County Airport on Sunday evenings, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sept. 10 – Dec. 3. 

This course is designed to prepare students to take the FAA private pilot written exam. Topics will include flight planning, navigation, airport operations, weather conditions and much more. Offering the class at Franklin County Airport is intended to provide students more hands-on instructions and an up-close look at an airport facility.

The cost of the course is $60, plus the cost of a textbook.
