VGCC Offers Continuing Education In Wastewater Treatment Operation

Vance-Granville Community College will offer a six-hour class in Wastewater Treatment Operator Continuing Education on Dec. 1 at its main campus in Vance County.

The class is designed to help operators better understand plant operations and solve problems as they occur. It will include two hours of wastewater microbiology, one hour of surviving a state inspection, and three hours of troubleshooting and optimizing a wastewater treatment plant.

Instruction will include lectures, PowerPoint presentations, questions and answers, and assignments.

Dwight Lancaster and Tony Arnold, both of whom are Grade 4 operators with 25 years experience in wastewater treatment, will teach the class.

There will be a $50 registration fee for the course. To pre-register, and for more information, call Danny Guin, VGCC dean of College Services, or Alison Proctor at (252) 492-2061.
