VGCC offers Basic Welding course at Franklin Campus

Sparks will fly when Vance-Granville Community College’s Franklin County Campus in Louisburg holds a Basic Welding course during the spring semester. Classes are offered on Saturdays, Jan. 26 through March 15, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., with a one-hour break for lunch.

Students will learn various aspects of welding, including safety, oxyacetylene welding, cutting operations and arc welding. This hands-on course, which will be taught by Shaun Best, will provide students with the skills and knowledge to weld as a hobby or to prepare for more training to become a certified welder.

The cost of the class will be $60.
