VGCC Franklin Campus Offers Holiday Cooking Class

A five-week course on preparing specialty dishes for the holidays will be offered at Vance-Granville Community College’s Franklin County Campus in Louisburg, in two sessions this fall.  Classes will be held Tuesday evenings, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sept. 12 – Oct. 10, and Oct. 17 – Nov. 14.

“This class will teach students how to prepare elegant, tasty and cost effective holiday dishes and to beautifully decorate their tables,” said Franklin Campus Assistant Director Anthony Pope.  The instructor for the course will be Anna Marie Valin, who brings a unique perspective and experience.  She learned how to cook from her grandmother, who was the personal chef for President Lyndon B. Johnson at his LBJ Ranch in Stonewall, Texas.  Valin will cover a wide variety of dishes, including appetizers, salads, beverages, and side dishes.

The cost of the course is $25, plus supplies.
