VGCC Franklin Campus Child Care Students learn Fire Safety

Young students at the Child Care Center on Vance-Granville Community College’s Franklin County Campus recently celebrated Fire Safety Week (Oct. 8-12).

Special guests at the five-star child day care during the week included Louisburg Firefighter Dalton West, Smokey the Bear, and the “Fire Pup”. Children learned about smoke detectors, the “stop, drop and roll” technique and firefighting equipment. They received fire hats, stickers, coloring books, pencils and magnets.

Students also enjoyed a visit by a Louisburg Fire Department truck. Pictured above (from left) in front of the truck are students Lakota Archambeau, Hailey Burnette, Natalie Edwards, Jewl Lumpkins, Shepard Dudding, Isaac Bradsher, Jaden Taylor, and Chase Bible.
