VGCC Course Prepares residents for Biotech Training

Vance-Granville Community College’s Human Resources Development (HRD) Department will offer a course that helps students prepare for jobs in the biotechnology field.

The course, “Pathways to BioWork,” will be held at VGCC’s Franklin County Campus near Louisburg on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 11 through Jan. 15, from 9 a.m. until noon.

Participants will be better prepared to take VGCC’s “BioWork” Process Technician course, which is also offered at the Franklin County Campus. BioWork is a training course that prepares men and women for employment as process technicians within Bioprocess, Pharmaceutical, or Chemical Manufacturing companies. Technicians are in high demand throughout the state, including at area companies such as Novozymes in Franklinton, Revlon in Oxford and Iams in Henderson.

HRD classes are free for qualified participants, including the unemployed, underemployed and dislocated workers.
