Vance-Granville Community College will conduct a memorial service for Vesta Fortson Manning at the Civic Center on Thursday, Dec. 16, at noon.

Manning, an instructor in Foreign Languages, Humanities and Social Studies at the college since September 1990, died Dec. 9 at Duke Hospital in Durham from complications resulting from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Nov. 20.

All friends, former students and the public are invited to attend the service, which will include tributes and reminiscences from people who were influenced by Vesta Manning.
