Scholarship Awards Ceremony September 25

On Wednesday, Sept. 25, 278 full-time VGCC students will receive scholarships provided by local businesses, industries and individuals.

The event will take place in the Civic Center beginning at 11 a.m.

The awards ceremony serves several purposes, Robert Miller, Vance-Granville’s president, says. “It allows the recipients the opportunity to be recognized as well as affords them the opportunity to thank, in person, the provider of the scholarship.

“It is also a chance for donors to the endowment fund to be acknowledged.”

Students receiving a scholarship should arrive at the Civic Center no later than 10 a.m.

During the presentations, pictures will be taken of each recipient with their donor, and the event will be videotaped for showing on Vance-Granville’s television show, “Vance-Granville Today.”

Students accepting scholarships should remember to look their best and to bring their biggest smiles!
