Legal Assisting Course Offered At VGCC’s Warren Campus

An introductory course for persons interested in becoming legal secretaries will be taught at Vance-Granville Community College’s Warren County Campus, beginning Jan. 5.

Introduction to Legal Assisting is designed to provide an introduction to the legal field for those interested in becoming legal secretaries, legal assistants or related employment. The course will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8:50 p.m. in Room W106, beginning Jan. 5 and running through May 4 at the campus on Ridgeway Street in Warrenton.

Course topics include understanding the terminology, background and knowledge of basic legal procedures and concepts in the various fields of the law required to work in a law office or related area. Other topics may include understanding how to complete projects dealing with different aspects of the law and how to prepare commonly used legal documents.
