Kittrell Job Corps Center thanks VGCC

Vance-Granville Community College recently received recognition from Kittrell Job Corps Center for the continuing partnership between the two institutions. Kittrell Job Corps Center director Arvin Lane stopped by the college’s main campus to present a certificate of appreciation to VGCC officials in person. The certificate honors VGCC’s “outstanding contributions” to KJCC in 2010. The college works with the center to provide Job Corps students with various instructional programs and advanced training, both at the center itself and on VGCC campuses. These programs include GED , Adult High School Diploma , Human Resources Development , computer classes, Nurse Aide training, one-year technical diploma programs and two-year degree programs .

Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 through 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. KJCC , located on U.S. Highway 1 in Kittrell, is overseen by the Atlanta Regional Office of Job Corps and is operated by Del-Jen, Inc.
