Graduation Information

All graduates are required apply for graduation online through (Student tab > Academic Planning section > Apply for Graduation link.) Student will be charged the $20 graduation fee for each degree earned once the application is submitted. Graduates should meet with their assigned advisor or a success coach in the Student Learning and Success Center for their graduation check before submitting the application online. This check consists of the advisor reviewing the graduate’s transcript to ensure that they have successfully fulfilled the program requirements for graduation.

A final check of the graduation application will then be completed in the Registrar’s Office. Please note that final graduation is contingent upon successful completion of all  courses required to meet the diploma or degree requirements, a final cumulative GPA of 2.000 or higher and owing no outstanding debt to the VGCC Business Office. The final graduation transcript review is done as soon as all required grades are received from the faculty. Any student who does not meet final graduation criteria will not be allowed to participate in graduation.  Graduates with questions regarding eligibility for graduation should contact Kathy Ktul, VGCC Registrar, by email at ktulk@vgcc.edu .

After the graduate meets with their advisor for the graduation check and submits their Application for Graduation, they should pay their graduation fee. The graduation fee is $20 per degree and may be paid in person at the Business Office or through WebAdvisor.  In order to receive a printed diploma, the graduation fee must be paid regardless of participation in the commencement ceremony. 

The $20 graduation fee does not  include the cost of cap and gown. Cap and gown orders are placed separately and are a separate fee.  See the Regalia and Annoucements section of the Registrar’s website.

Graduation Application Deadlines

• December & May Graduates:

    April 5, 2019

• July Graduates:

    Last Thursday in April for those participating in the May ceremony – April 25, 2019 (Diplomas will be mailed after student completes graduation requirements.)

    Or

    Last Thursday in June for those not participating in the May ceremony (applies to those who just want printed diploma) – June 27, 2019
