FAMILIES IN SCHOOL TOGETHER GRADUATION

In the top photograph above, VGCC President Robert A. Miller presents a GED certificate to Douglas Cook during graduation ceremonies for the Families in School Together program at Carver Elementary School on June 6. At left in the photo is Sue Grissom, director of Workplace Literacy in VGCC’s Continuing Education department. Another GED recipient in the FIST (Families In School Together) program this year, Tracy Satterwhite, is enrolled in the pre-Associate Degree Nursing program at Vance-Granville. She was unavailable for the photos. Pictured in the bottom photograph, persons studying for their GEDs in the FIST program through VGCC were also honored during the ceremonies. At front left in the photo are Jane Fleming, FIST program director, and participants James Jones, Lottie Hargrove and Lori Whaley.
