‘Christmas Cuddles’ For Flood Victims

The Alumni Association of Vance-Granville Community College is collecting new blankets and stuffed toys to help make Christmas a little merrier for our neighbors in Eastern North Carolina who were flooded by Hurricane Floyd.

Gift-paper wrapped “Christmas Cuddles” boxes have been placed throughout the area to collect these items, which Alumni Association members will deliver to agencies in flood-ravaged areas for distribution before Christmas. Boxes are available at VGCC campuses in Vance, Granville, Warren and Franklin counties and at businesses in the area, including both Roses Stores in Henderson, the Home Decorator Shoppe in Henderson, Lowe’s in Henderson, Associates Financial Services in Oxford and the Bullock Post Office.

When you’re doing your Christmas shopping for family and friends, won’t you remember the people who have lost their homes and belongings in the flood and buy an extra blanket and stuffed toy and place it in one of these collection boxes before Dec. 20?

To host a gift box, call Copper Rain at 492-2061, ext. 3422.
