China Painting, Figurine Making Added to VGCC Doll-Making Class

Bertie Bumgarner, who has taught the Continuing Education class at VGCC about 22 years, has announced that, in addition to dolls, she will include the making of Christmas ornaments, snow babies and figurines to the class, and she will show students how to paint the china and ceramic figures.

“We will not stick to one art in this fall class,” Bumgarner said. “Students may work on individual projects on their own, and I will provide instruction on how to make them and paint them.”

The doll-making class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays for 10 weeks, beginning Sept. 15 and ending Nov. 17 in Room 5227 on the main campus in Vance County.

Students may register at the first class, at which time they will receive a list of materials they will need.

Cost of the class is $37.50. For more information, call the Continuing Education office at (252) 738-3316.
