Bloodborne Pathogens

The law enforcement profession requires us to respond and find quick solutions to problems. Often, our training involves the use of our equipment and how to address various situations. Unfortunately, Bloodborne Pathogens can create several issues and obstacles to controlling or resolving an incident.

Law enforcement personnel face many dangers every day. Whether it is from an armed suspect or danger from traffic, there are situations we think about, plan and train for, and protect ourselves from consistently. There are also dangers we cannot see such as bloodborne pathogens; however, this does not make them any less dangerous and arguably more so because we often fail to take precautions against those things which we do not see.
