Vance-Granville Community College’s Warren County Campus will hold a celebration of Earth Day on Friday, April 21, from 10 until 11:30 a.m., and the public is invited to attend. Weather permitting, activities will be held outside on the campus, located at 210 West Ridgeway Street in Warrenton.

During the celebration, Warren Early College High School students are scheduled to plant flowers and herbs in the raised beds on the campus with the assistance of Gigi Lytton from the Warren County Food Corps. Students will also make Earth Day posters to be displayed. Dominique Simon, an area agent for Family and Consumer Sciences who specializes in food safety, health and nutrition at the Warren County office of N.C. Cooperative Extension, will provide a garden salad to sample. Recycling bins will be placed outside for students to recycle paper and plastic items.
