Writing XI



Complete following assignments
  1. Complete all English Skills XI lessons/tests
  2. Complete lessons/tests for two of the novels
  3. Complete all Writing XI lessons/tests, if assigned

Prepare and provide to your instructor as a part of your "Writing" lessons for grading
  1. 400 - 1500 word children's story written for appropriate child's reading level complete with pictures and/or illustrations.
  2. For an actual city or town, conduct a research project to gather information and prepare/submit a written community brochure (tri-fold), which also includes pictures (minimum of 3), graphics, and charts as appropriate.
  3. Prepare a business letter to a college or trade school of your choice requesting a catalog and other information on what they offer their students.
  4. Submit a 1500+ word research paper on a subject of your choice in MLA format.
  5. 250 - 500 word analysis of each of the 2 novels completed above. With the analysis, show how this story could fit in today's society.
  6. 250 - 500 word analysis of the play completed above. With the analysis, show how this story could fit in today's society
  7. Prepare a glossary of 25 new words identified during this course including the Word, its Definition, and the Origin of the word
