1. Complete all Comprehensive Biology lessons/tests
Prepare and email the following to your instructor:
- Submit one of the papers defined below:
Unless specified otherwise, project papers shall be written using the MLA format, use a minimum of 3 referenced sources of information, and be at least 500 words in length but of sufficient length to provide the reader with a clear understanding of the point or points being made. Generally, no maximum length will be specified.
- In your paper, address your understanding of differences of opinion surrounding the theory of evolution versus creation. Since there is considerable information on both sides of this issue, explain the evidence your research has uncovered supporting both sides, discribe your position on this subject, and tell why you have taken that position based on the evidence found by your personal research.
- Another hot topic is "Intelligent Design" versus "by chance or by necessity" as espoused by Charles Darwin. "Intelligent Design" endeavors to keep the focus on scientific proof. Take a position on this topic and prepare your paper based on the evidence you have gathered that supports your position. However, also, include in your discussions the evidence used by those taking the opposing view.
- Explore what has come to be known as the "Gap Theory" to ascertain which position on that theory is supported by scientific evidence. Provide enough information in your report that ensures you have adequately researched and understand the "Gap Theory." Include in your paper, your personal position on the subject.
