English As A Second Language Program (ESL)
Welcome to VGCC!
The English as a Second Language Program is for those whose native language is NOT English. Three (3) ESL levels are available: Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced.
What is taught?
Instruction in ESL provides the opportunity to improve the communication skills, as well as daily living skills, necessary to become a more integral part of the adult American community.

Who is eligible?
Adults 18 and over may enroll.
What are the guidelines?
Must follow procedures and guidelines of the college and abide by the Code of Conduct as listed in the College Catalog; must be mature and responsible. Children or other individuals (non-students) accompanying students are not allowed in classrooms or testing centers, nor should they be left alone in the campus common areas. The College cannot assume responsibility for these individuals while on campus.
How long does it take to complete?
Students begin at their individual functioning level and progress at their own rate. No specific time limit is set for completion.
What does it cost?
There is no cost to be in the ESL Program. All services provided are free.
When is enrollment?
Enrollment is open / ongoing throughout each semester.
