Student
Huskins Classes are college courses that are scheduled specifically for high school students and may be offered either on a high school or a VGCC campus.

Purpose

The purpose of the Huskins Bill cooperative program, called the Huskins program, is to make available to high school students college level academic, technical and vocational courses not otherwise available to them and effect an uninterrupted flow in education from the high school into community college or four-year college or university.

Program Objectives:
  • To provide an opportunity for high school students to participate in courses not otherwise available
  • To enhance the motivation and achievement of high school students
  • To encourage high school students to utilize post secondary opportunities for pursuing lifelong educational and training goals
  • To maximize the use of State resources while not duplicating courses

Program Costs:

Students enrolled in a Huskins course do not have to pay tuition but are required to purchase textbooks if not provided by their high school. Students are also responsible for purchasing any uniforms, shoes, manikins or other required supplies.
