Human Services ProgramCurriculum Overview
The Human Services Technology/Mental Health concentration prepares students for job opportunities in the mental health fi eld. The curriculum enables students to understand culturally and emotionally handicapped, developmentally disabled, or addicted clients through a variety of models and diagnoses.

Course work includes a history of the mental health movement, current developments and future trends, and theoretical models affecting individual development
and behavior in a diverse client population. Students take courses such as Crisis Intervention, Mental Health Systems, Child Abuse and Neglect, Advocacy, Psychological Assessment and Behavior Modifi cation. Field-work experiences provide opportunities for application of knowledge in agency and institutional settings.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Core Mental Health track courses are taken at South Campus near Creedmoor.Students can take some required classes at other campuses and some distance-learning courses are offered online.
