Message from the Director of Counseling Services

Life in college is a time of great change and personal growth. It is exciting, satisfying, and sometimes challenging. For many students, there are times when all the demands and excitement may feel overwhelming. VGCC understands that students need many kinds of support to help them succeed.

Counseling Services is available to help with:
  • students who need individual attention for resolving personal or interpersonal problems
  • student who desire guidance in dealing with the demands of academic life, and friends, faculty, family members, and others who have concerns about the well-being of a VGCC student.

In addition to counseling. the department provides outreach and educational services through specialized programs including:
  • Student Development Seminar Series
  • New Student Orientation
  • Male Mentoring Program
  • Disability Services
  • Pre-College Programs for High School Students
  • Health Promotion and Substance Abuse Prevention

Our office is located in Students Affairs (Building #8) on the Henderson Main Campus. Business Hours are from 8am to 5pm Monday through Thursday and on Friday's from 8am to 3pm.
